The Museum kits department will want to know the kit titles and dates you wish to use them. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis and we will work with you to accommodate your requests.

  • Kits must be ordered in advance.
  • Proof of payment in the form of a credit card, purchase order number or check must be made before pick up or shipment of kits.
  • We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Do not send credit card number via email, this is not a secure site. Please phone in card numbers upon confirmation of kit reservations.

Museum Members receive a 10% discount. Call 617-426-6500 x354 for more membership information.

How to get the Kits
Pick-up: You may pick up kits at the Museum 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Museum is located at 308 Congress Street in Boston. Convenient pick up is available at the rear of the Museum on Sleeper Street M - F, 10am to 4:30pm. Paid parking is not necessary. Click here for Directions

Shipping: Museum kits can be shipped to you anywhere within the contiguous United States. Due to the cost of shipping we are unable to ship to AK and HI.

  • The shipping fee for Kits shipped to the following states is $30 round-trip (outbound and return included).

  • Kits will arrive on or before the reserved start date and must be repacked in the original shipping box and waiting for shipper pick up on the last day of the reservation period.

Missing Kit Items
Occasionally objects, books and items otherwise listed in a Kit Content List are missing from the Kit. If we have failed to list missing items please notify the Kits staff. If a kit is returned incomplete, all efforts must be made to return the missing items. The user is responsible for returning all Kit contents and a fee for the replacement cost will be charged back to the primary user.
