Why do we have collections?

Objects tell stories. Objects can teach us about people and places, history and art, science and the world around us. Learning through objects can help you use your imagination, exercise your curiosity, inspire you to ask questions, and give you new insights into your world.

We here at the Museum believe that real objects and direct experiences can make learning fun. Objects can teach you things that you can't learn from books, television or computers.

The Museum has been teaching with objects for almost 100 years.
