All birthday party reservations are booked for 2 hours in a private room with free Museum admission for the day for you and your guests. You will also have a Birthday Party Coordinator the day of to assist you with your event. The birthday child and the hosts are not included in the guest count.

Birthday Party Room: Our brightly-colored, festive birthday party room is equipped with Food Table (8ft-standard rectangle), Cake Table (4ft- rectangle), Child-size Table (8ft-standard rectangle), Adult & Children Chairs, Coat rack, Refrigerator (standard size with freezer), CD Player -The museum has some child appropriate CDs but you may bring in your own, Sink with Counter space for presents/favors, Blackboard for children to draw on (chalk provided).

Capacity: 40 Guests (15 Children Maximum)

Group Party Room: Our big, festive party room is ideal for a larger crowd. The room is equipped with Food Table (8ft-standard rectangle, Cake Table (4ft-rectangle), Adult Tables and Chairs of your choice, Coat rack, Separate kitchen area, off of the room, with refrigerator (standard size with freezer) and a sink, 2 handicapped-size restrooms (Unfortunately, these two restrooms do not have changing tables. However, all other Museum restrooms are fully equipped with changing tables.), CD Player -The museum has some child appropriate CDs but you may bring in your own.

Boston Children's Museum Members receive a 10% discount on party packages.

The following items below can be added to your package at any time as long as you notify the Birthday Party Senior Coordinator at least two weeks in advance of your scheduled party. Any add-on request made after the two weeks deadline may not be available.

Flat Fee Activities:

• Face Painting: $30 - Recommended for all ages
• Play Dough Fun: $15 - Recommended for ages 4 and under

Per Child Rate Activities:

• Mask Making: $3 per child –Recommended for all ages
• Crown Making: $3 per child –Recommended for all ages
• Origami: $2 per child –Recommended for ages 6 and older
• Finger Painting: $5 per child - Recommended for ages 5 and under

Saturday: 11am-1pm & 2-4pm
Sunday: 11am-1pm & 2-4pm

Office Hours: The Birthday Party Senior Coordinator is in the Museum Wednesday-Sunday.

Arranging an Appointment: You may call and set up an appointment to see the Birthday Party Room beforehand and finalize your event all in the same day.

Payments and Cancellations
A 50% deposit of the package price is required upon booking. The remaining balance is due no less than a week prior to the party. All deposits and payments must be paid with a major credit card. One month’s notice is needed for all cancellations.

Entertainment
We allow Magicians, Musicians, Photographers and just about any other form of entertainment
They must be fully insured and licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

We ask that you supply a copy of the entertainer's insurance and license.

**Also, please note, if balloons are used by your entertainer they MUST be Mylar and they MUST remain in the party room(s). Balloons, even Mylar ones, are NOT ALLOWED in the Museum!**

Decorations

• Decorations, Streamers, Pinatas and Mylar balloons are all allowed
• If you need to hang anything on the wall, you must use blue painter’s tape.

Please Note: Latex balloons are not permitted in the Museum due to choking and allergy concerns. Masking tape and tacks are not permitted because they can cause damage to the walls. Food and Decorations, including balloons, must remain in the party room(s)
